York Museum Gardens

Just on the northwest side of York town center you find York Museum Gardens, about 10 acres of garden, trees, old buildings, art and lots of squirrels. It's open nearly every day - opening times change through the year - check the website. We have been for little walks here several times, with my favourite time being in the autumn. Also very nice for a picnic on a summer evening. The website also mentions Garden Tours – every Sunday 1-2pm. If you are in town for shopping, the gardens make a nice break from the shopping streets. Main entrance is at the end of Lendal, near Lendal bridge, not far from the Minster and only a short stroll from the railway station.

We look forward to more walks there in the future!
